The Power of Your Thoughts – Experience it Right This Second

The power of your thoughts is… well, powerful.

Many of my past posts go into greater detail about this, and this is a short post that will go over two simple exercises that you can do right this second to show yourself the powers of personal suggestion.

Let us get started!

With these exercises you can stay right where you are, sitting up straight with the palms of your hands placed down on each leg, or on the armrests of your chair. Keep your eyes closed 🙂

The Two Exercises

Sit comfortably and take in a couple of deep breaths. With your eyes still closed, repeat to yourself the following “my hands are heavy, my hands are heavy, my hands are heavy”. Notice how your hands start to feel heavier….

With your eyes still closed, keep repeating to yourself “my hands are heavy, my hands are heavy, my hands are heavy”. Notice how your hands start to feel heavier….keep doing this as many times as you like…..

Notice how consciously you know that if you really wanted to move your hand you could…. but….

They feel heavy and you probably don’t want to, do you?

Now let’s try something else.

Close your eyes and imagine standing in front of a pile of huge, juicy lemons.

Take a moment to select the perfect lemon….

Now bring that lemon up to your mouth and take a huge bite out of it- notice how sour it is… how juicy and sour this big lemon is… and as you do just take notice on how you have started salivating….

Now you are not actually taking a bite out of this lemon, but just the thought of it in your mind has activated the saliva glands in your mouth.

These are two simple, easy and quick ways to show you the powers of thought…

Let me know what you think of them!

What were your own experiences with these?
