Making the Time – Can Personal Passion Triumph over Obligations?

Writer's picture: Andrea KellyAndrea Kelly

So I have been consistently making the time to post here as frequently as I can- why? Because I absolutely love it.

This blog, for me, has been an outlet for personal expression and creativity- something I felt that I needed in my life.

It has allowed me to start becoming more confident with my voice-

and hopefully, as I grow, so will this space and place that I have newly created this year on the WWW.

Everybody needs a little something of their own- something of passion- that is totally an expression of themselves.

I truly believe that if you are not working on, towards or are a part of something that you are passionate about- that really makes you feel like you are YOU- then you are not fully living.

Not yet.

You have not yet grasped the full expression life.

In a faster-paced world, the ideal of living a life where a considerable amount of time can be put towards you passion is not easy.

I get it.

I really do.

So for those of you who do not know, I am also in Real Estate.

I feel extremely lucky and blessed that I work with amazing people and I enjoy my job- I do project sales and this allows me to work hard for periods of time while being able to take off large periods of time too, which then allows me to further pursue my passion for self-development, mindfulness practices (meditation, manifestation, and hypnotherapy), coaching etc.

I find that it is completely possible to do both because my passion for wellness and becoming the best version of myself (and helping others to do the same) is something that I gravitate towards naturally and is completely apart of my life and who I am

But I need to be completely honest- what I am finding is that lately,

there just does not seem to be enough time.

and so then comes something further that I ponder-

is there really not enough time,

or am I failing to make the time?

And if I am failing to make the time- then why is this so?

I am not suggesting that you completely dissect or psychoanalyze things to the point of no return-

But I have invited myself, in this present moment, to try to take a deeper look to see if something may lie deeper beneath the surface….

and to understand this whole concept of “not enough time to do what I love and why”.

It is easy to say “I don’t have enough time” to do a blog post.

It is easy to say “I have not gotten around to getting proper vlogging camera” to free myself from doing a video.

The reality is that if we want something bad enough, we will make the time.

With this in mind, I am making the choice to do this post and to get the conversation going.

What might be holding you back from doing the things that you love?

Are current obligations really eating up all of your time- or are there other things that lay beneath the surface that is preventing you from moving ahead with your joy?

I ask the universe to present to me what it is I need to see- are there any fears that are preventing me from moving forward? Do I have issues believing in what I write about

provides any true value to others?

Okay yes, I may have some hesitations at times…

And then I see it clearly.

If I want it, I will do it.

There is no need to over-complicate anything.

And so, ending yet another full day, I feel grateful.

Grateful that I get to finish my day working on my passion, my blog, my creativity, my outlet- my something that is me that I am sharing with the world.

That I made the choice to selectively carve out this moment to spend time doing what it is I claim to love too much.

And really, at the end of the day.

It came simply, it is easy, because I would not, at this very moment, want to be doing anything else.

I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my posts (thank you!)  and I would love to hear about your own challenges/passions/ways you make time.
